Risk Management Alternatives (an equifax branch) will not change the negative information in my tradeline. I settled with the company and paid the final balance before finding out about this board. I mailed them a payment and a letter asking for collection information to be removed from credit bureau. I called today and the rep said they can not removed the collection status. She says they have reported to Equifax that the account is settled in full. She would not give me the original creditor's information. She just gave me the address to the CA that they bought the account from. The bill was a southwestern bell accont from years ago. Help what should I do. My fico score is now 500 because of this collection. Desperately trying to get to 600.
I have almost the same situation/problem with them. before I found this board, I settled, and said, you'll remove if i pay, right? they said sure. didn't get anything in writing.....of course, now it's a paid charge off. I just sent out the 1st nutcase letter, have you tried that?
