I had an account with American Express for approx. $12000 that was turned over to RMA for collections. I agreed to a payment plan with RMA to have my payments debitted from my checking account on a monthly basis. This worked well for a few months until a couple months ago they debitted two months at once. As a result of the premature debit, I ended up with several overdraft fees from my bank. I contacted RMA via phone and letter informing them that I wanted to be reimbursed for the amount of the overdrafts. There was not enough money in the account for 2 payments so one got bounced back. I sent a replacement check which 45 days later has still not been cashed and RMA is unsure why. I sent it to the correct address. I contacted my back to begin an inquiry bc it was through online bill payment that I sent the check. According to them, the check was mailed. My concern is that the payment will be considered late bc it hasn't been posted. RMA told me that they would credit my account for the overdraft fees but I have yet to see a credit and have not received anything in writing which I requested in my letter. I informed them that if they continued with premature debits that I would report them to the BBB, FTC, and the state attorney generals office. What should be my next step? Can I request that once this balance is pd. that all the negative info. be deleted from my CR. Do I have a chance given how they handled my checking account. Can I ask AMEX to take the account back? If so, what are my chances?

*Did you make RMA Validate before doing this? Also you should never give a CA Your checking account info. You're lucky they don't take everything you deposit into the account.
*It never works well that's why you don't do it.
*You have a CA listed on your reports and you're worried about a late pay.
*Stop the automatic withdrawals
*yes . but they probably won't do it. Once they get the money What's it to them?
*Not great the way you're going about it.
*If RMA bought the account you can't.
