    Wanted to bump this thread, and add this:

    "If a borrower rehabilitate a defaulted loan before consolidating it , the credit record will contain no indication that the loan was ever in a defaulted status."

    This is from the Dept. of Ed, although they don't mention the Servicing Cord, etc., it does say there will be no indication that the loan was *ever* in defaulted status. Could be useful...

    Scout, where did you find this? Could you point us there? Also, what about anything showing any negative status such as 120 days late, collection account, etc.?
