RNB Target and Experian Question

On my EX report it shows Target RNB as "Charge off as of 12-03" which is in the account history section. Then EX states "date of status" as 12/2003.

    EQ reports DOLA as 8-98.

TU reports "paid off 7/1999", and "status as of 2/1999 Payment after charge off/collection."

BTW, this was a CCCS deal that I pay Target off and I never missed a payment that Target supposedly agreed to. Target still reported lates and eventually a chargeoff. FYI, don't use a Consumer Counseling Service, they mess things up.

I have been disputing with the CRA's and notice EX (or Target) seems to be re-aging the account on EX only? I originally thought that I was mistaking the date the report was being updated, but going through it I see that "Reported since" is probably the update date? It appears to me that "date of status" is the 7 year mark. All the other accounts I am disputing show the "date of status" in the right year, ie 1998 and 1999 (my bad years). It starts new for the last couple of months. This was paid off in 1998 or 1999.

In the balance history on EX, it shows a zero balance from 12/2001 to now. So how could it be a charge off as of 12-2003 if there was nothing to charge off? Why does EX keep verifying this?

I could still be reading this thing wrong, but am confused. I can't imagine they (EX or Target) would re-age so blatantly. I mean, it's obvious this wasn't charged off on 10-2003, 11-2003, and now 12-2003.

All the dates and descriptions on the EX report for Target RNB are reported as follows:

    Date opened: 05/1996
    Reported Since: 12/2003
    Date of Status: 12/2003
    Last Reported: 12/2003
    Type: Revolving
    Terms: NA
    Monthly Payment: $0
    Responsibility: Individual
    Credit Limit/Original
    Amount: $330
    High Balance: NA
    Recent Balance: NA
    Recent Payment: NA
Account History: Charge Off as of 12-2003
