If you've had several things go into collections within the past 2 years but have paid them off since what is a reasonable amount of time to wait and start applying for credit again?

First off, read everything on this forum you can. This forum is a gift. A paid collection is not any better than one is unpaid.

Dispute your collections as 'not mine' and go from there. Remember, once you pay off a collection account, you have no leverage.

Read everything you can on this forum. This place is a Godsend.

A paid collection is not any better on your score than an unpaid one. However, if you apply for a mortgage, they might insist that your debts are paid.

Dispute your collections. Send goodwill letters, if that doesn't work. And don't apply for credit until you know that the inquiry is not going to kill ya.

At the end of the 7 years.
You see paying collections does no good as there is no difference between paid and unpaid.
