Because I sent the first CA a C&D, the only way they could reach me was via the summons." 4*." She also stated that she "knew nothing about Academy, because they received the account directly from Citibank". 5*I have no problem acknowledging that this IS my debt. 6*I can make payments of $268.75 a month to this attorney for only TWO years, and have Citibank paid off. 7*My husband is the one who is now in a royal panic - because judgements appear on your credit report for 7 years. 8*A. Since the card is in my name, will this judgement appear on his credit report also? 9*how long will all of this mess appear on our credit reports? 7 years from the date Citibank put it in collections (December 03) or 7 years 10*she goes and files some type of dismissal with conditions - indicating that because payment arrangements have been made and it doesn't get filed in a specific court but filed in another? I don't think it was lb's advice that upset Roddysmom, I think it's that he was making the remarks about the boyfriend, etc. If people don't follow all the threads they don't know, and don't necessarily want to hear about that. Maybe if he kept to the advice and left the slams at people out it would be OK. Even if he had just made a statement that we realize kaykay29 is a CA, or something like that. But even when she is helpful, lb would just slam her, and I think that's what upsets people. While I don't necessarily agree with kaykay most of the time, I have seen her here actually trying to help people, and in several cases even said the CA should be sued. So, why do behind that and start slamming her fiance? If he's mentioned in the post by kaykay, as he was in several, it's probably fair game.

Posters name changed to protect the offender-er offended ====================== 1*Wrong.Calling does not acknowledge the debt. 2*This has nothing to do with the current CA. 3*Not True because they were not bound by the C&D received by the first CA. 4*Then how did she know you sent the first CA a C&D? 5*Acknowledging a debt to a CA creates serious problems. 6*But if done incorrectly it screws your score and credit needlessly. 7*Actually a judgment can be reported indefinitely because they can be renewed over and over again. 8*If his name is on the suit yes. 9*City bank 7 years from date account first went delinquent the judgment up to a life time. 10*What this means is they can get a judgment without going to court if you default on the arrangement.Don't agree to anything less that an unconditional dismissal.
You know... you are exactly correct. Whether or not lbrown or kk is a CA, who is right, who is wrong... is not the point. The simple point of saying what I did was to let you all know that coming into someone's post who is ASKING for advice on a debt collection problem, and then putting them in the middle of a squabble between regular posters is rude and wrong - when that new poster has no idea what the existing problem is. And what is really sad and very hurtful.. is to come back in here several days later and find that I am being made the butt of jokes & sarcasms - all at my expense. I guess that some think it is okay though; I'm very upset and hurt by seeing & reading this - with everything else that is going on. I truly thought I could come in here for support and help. Thank you for your time, I will see if I can find some place else to request help.
Re: Re: Roddysmoms ~~~ Judgement you are not the butt of anyone's jokes... it does matter that you understand that KK is a CA and it does matter who may be right or wrong (regardless of who it is). and you didn't just post about the squabble, you jumped on LB for refering you to newbie links. LB does look out for the best interest of others. its important that anyone who posts remembers that the emotion behind a posting is sometimes hard to detect, such as sarcasm, sincerity, anger, etc.
Please, if you would, let me know "where" I "jumped on" lb about posting links - and I'll apologize. I see no reference to any comments about newbie links whatsoever, except for the fact that I know I have things to read: If that is how he construes it, or you do - then I DO apologize. However, the conduct and the comments in this thread - sarcastic they are - that were posted by others; regardless, were mocking and deliberate. I think we all can see that - and they WERE and ARE hurtful. Why is it that "I" am in the "wrong" - for saying that new posters who are genuinely looking for help do not deserve to be in the middle of comments flying back and forth between old posters? Is that acceptable behavior here? And then to come in after a few days and find a thread like this? I could read every single thread on here - and NOTHING would make sense to me. (1) I do not remember or retain 70% of things that I read, and unless someone spells out specifically what I need to do - then I have no idea. (2) I continue to ask questions over and over until someone explains things in elementary fashion so that *I* understand. I appreciate the fact that you stepped in and said something Jenz, but it doesn't stop the fact that LB took it upon himself to come in here and start making the mocking and sarcastic remarks. It was unkind, uncaring, and very hurtful.
this was the part i was referring to that i think people felt you were coming down on LB for refering you to newbie links: I'm not dumb. I know I have to read, read, read. seriously, no one is making jokes at your expense. i apologize on lb's behalf if it appeared that way. i took this thread as his way of answering your post without kk's posts. and the responses were not against you just simply supporting LB that he was trying to help you. its not you, its kk and the fact she is a CA that gets to him. anyone here will tell you LB and I had an interesting start, so me supporting him shows that i believe he is a good person. i think your going through a stressful time and emotions play a huge role in how we read things. LB (and most here, including myself) like to have fun and sometimes the sarcasm comes across the wrong way.
