Several negative Sallie Mae TLS are currently listed on my CR even though they are over 7 years old. For some reason, they list my last activity date as 2004 instead of 2000. I sent a letter CMRRR to Sallie Mae about the mistake 30 days ago. The only response I got back was a two sentence reply that said they no longer handle my account and have no information. What should my next step be to get these TLs removed? I need to get these cleaned up quickly.
Have you disputed the incorrect dates with the CRA's? Just a thought. Unfortunatley I have no student loan experience, maybye someone who does will be by soon. Tegleg
Well, if they have no information, one would assume if you disputed this as "reaged" with the CRAs, then SM would have no way to verify it, and the TL should be deleted.
Before I contacted Sallie Mae I did contact the CRAs about this. They came back verified. I called Experian and they told me that they could not give me information on how this was verified and that I would need to contact Sallie Mae and have them correct any problems.
