I am 99.9% sure that an account has been reported to 2 different CA's, and both are on my EQ! DANG! WTF!?!?! This looks like OC was SW Bell Telephone and reported it to CA #! in 12/01; Then, when SW Bell changed their name to SBA they apparently wanted to collect twice 'cause in 11/02 they turned in the same account to CA #2! The dollar amnts are $1 off, but the accnt no.s are different, but I am sure it's derived from the same account; What's strange is that CA #2 showed up 1st, and just today CA #1 made an appearance. Any thoughts and how I should handle this? I have just sent a valdiation letter to CA #2 last week. I am getting ready to send to CA #1, but is there anything else I can do?
Have you requested Validation from either/or/both CA1 & CA2? Experian wouldn't allow me to dispute two tradelines with the same furnisher as duplicate because the furnisher created a new account number for the second tradeline, by adding gibberish characters to the account number... They seem to like to put the A in ANAL RETENTIVE... Have you tried to dispute the tradelines after you requested validation (if you have requested validation)? Chances are CA1 does not have the account any longer, if CA1 hasn't been able to collect, and they were assigned the OC can recall the account to try to get CA2 to be able to magically do what CA1 hasn't been able to do... If CA1 purchased the account, then CA1 could have sold the account to CA2. If you've gone through verification after validation on CA1, or CA2 with Experian, chances are they won't allow you to request verification again since again, they refuse any attempt at verification with their "PREVIOUSLY VERIFIED" frivelously, frivelous denial.
Hey Jam, This has only hit my EQ so far, and I just rqstd vald from both in the last 2 days; I will verify next step as soon as the green cards come back. What's funky is the older CA (CA#1) just put this on EQ. The newer CA (CA#2) put this on EQ about 2-3 wks ago so what gives? DANG!!
