I just had my CR pulled and there are 2 collections (for the same thing) with 2 different CA. I called the 1st CA and they said they had sold my collection to another CA. (in-turn said they could not remove their listing till i paid the other company & also would not give me any kind of formal letter indicating i owed their company no money)

The 2nd CA stated that they had recently bought my collection from CA #1 and they had a special one time offer for me to pay $418.00 of the debt but wouldn't be able to fax me a letter to state that is all I would have to pay until after I sent them the above said amount.

I need to know how to make CA #1 remove their listing for debt (since it is no longer owed to them and owed to CA #2?????

Send validation to #1, when you receive the green card back dispute with the CRAs.

(Stop talking to them on the phone - if they are breathing they are lieing) :)

1*No you don't;you need to know how the system works so that you understand what you really do need.

2*What you don't know is it's probably not owed to either CA and you need it removed by both CAs.

Read the links I posted above : It's a real mind opener.

    an addition to jlynn's post.

request validation from both, #1 because they don't have it, and will have to remove it when you request that it be verified by the CRAs.

request validation from #2, because you have no idea what the account is, whether it is legal, whether they're trying to include illegal fees, etc; and because likewise you are trying to get it deleted from your report if they can't do the validation within the 30 day limit that the CRAs are required to verifiy the listing.

if either of them verifies the account (or if #2 verifies before returning the complete validation), you have that cra in collecting after the validation letter, and in case of #1, reporting false information to the CRAs.
