okay...I have looked thru the sample letters but I don't know which one to use.

I had a JCPenney acct included in my 1994 bk.
JCP is still reporting the acct on my credit as bad/bk AND they are reporting my BK as 2000.

so which letter would I use? isn't there a 7 yr limitation on them reporting this acct?

there is no way there was activity in 2000 as the acct was included in the 1994 bk.

this 1 baddie keeping me from getting amex and other good cards.

I have disputed with CRA (experian is only one) and they say its validated. yeah right?
and JCP has not responded to my letter from over a month ago.
So which letter do I want to use. Do I go after the CRA (experian) or Jcpenney??
    thanks so much

I would call JCP and ask WTF? EXP is the worst out of the 3 but it some times works in favor being dumb. JCP is the last to report to the CRA's, EXP is only doing what they are told. They are to stupid to actually go by facts. Call JCP and explain the whole situation and scare them a little bit. After that dispute to the CRA and it should fall off. JCP is more at fault really than EXP. EXP is only doing what they are being told like a freaking dumb puppet. CALL JCP!!!!!!!!!! Do everything in a nice intelligent way without pissing off the CRA and it should go away soon. I would try this going after JCP instead of the CRA. You should get better results from the horses mouth!

Try and find their agent of service. Check your state's SOS. You can send a letter thru them, letting them know they have illegally reaged the account - it should have been gone two years ago, and that you are about to sue them.

See if that gets their attention.

Oh dear, you may be having a problem with Experian. Gee, I'm shocked and surprised. Do a search for dixiedrifter and the CYA manipulation letter. Its geared for this kind of thing.

To answer your other question. SOS = Secretary of State.

Agent of Service - most large corporations have a person that is the corp's registered agent to receive lawsuits, etc. They are listed with the SOS.
