Is it true that the stores only accept Discover card and not Visa, MC, or AMEX ? I remember reading their website that they take Visa, MC, AMEX, and Discover for online purchases, but the stores only take Discover. This is really weird for me because Visa and MC are accepted everywhere I go.
CORRECT...NO VISA/MC/AMEX @ SAMS (MAY BE A FEW "LOCAL" EXCEPTIONS)... BUT...you can go to WAL*MART and put say $500.00 fom VISA/MC/AMEX on a SHOPPING CARD...usable at ANY WAL*MART AND SAMS!!! They also take the WAL*MART STORE CARD... I load my wife's card all the time from WAL*MART so she can shop for WORK...for the "SNACK" room...100% of my (her) money is refunded by the activities committee within one week...(way before the bill even closes or is mailed)... $5.00-$1,000 up to 11 cards at one time...
Good thing I didn't cancel my Discover card yet. I guess I'll keep at least one of each (Visa, MC, AMEX, Discover, Diners Club). The only thing more strange than this would be if a certain establishment only took Diners. Now that would definitely take the cake.

My local Sam's Club in Pearl Ridge, Hawaii, accepts VISA credit cards. It seem to be pretty common that Sam's Club B&Ms accepts VISA cards. I know the B&Ms in Hampton Roads (Norfolk/VA Beach), Virginia, accepts VISA cards too.
George, How difficult is it to get a Wal-Mart card? Who issues this? Which CRA is pulled and what are the cutoff scores?
Pretty easy...MCCGB...scores I don't know...LIMITS pretty low...I HAVE $2,625 the guy said he has NEVER seen anybody with a limit that high...(WHAT A JOKE!!! I SAID I HAVE NONE UNDER $5,000)...CRA~~~NO IDEA. I guess it is different for STORE CARDS???
WAL*MART store card is offering 0.00% W/MIN PAYMENT for 6 months till 06/30/02... $250.00 or more of a sale...
I was the ONE luckily enough to be picked to know EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING ABOUT THE WAL*MART CREDIT CARD AND THE GIFT CARD (NOW SHOPPING CARD) PROGRAM... I HAD TO KNOW EVERYTHING BACKWARDS AND FORWARDS...INSIDE-OUT AND UPSIDE DOWN!!!
Speaking of club cards - I just found out that Costco in Northern VA only accepts the Costco Card and Amex (no V, M, or D). And even stranger, most golf courses here (private ones, not public) do not accept cash. I never thought I would see the day cash wasn't accepted. Dani
