I recently agreed to pay a creditor the amount they wanted. I was smart enough to get a signed letter from them stating if the terms were met that they will not put it on my credit report but did anyway.
Do I have any legal grounds now seeing I do have a signed letter from them collecting money from me and stating they will not put it on my credit report?

that is why you get it in writing, good for you, now you can use it if you get into a legal war with them. If I were you I'd sue.

Of course- if you've got it in writing, then the ball is in your court.
