This is truly amazing. My credit record with Equifax was 674. I disputed a judgment and it came off. Great news, right? I re-check my score.... and it's now 655!!!! How on EARTH does that make any sense?

I have over a decade of history, a healthy mix of accounts, no late payment on any of them EVER, a small utilization ratio... and a SINGLE judgment on my account that is currently in dispute. What is going on here?

But that can't be!! The top negative factor on my score was the presence of a public record item. Also, the judgment was marked as being only 2 years old, and my account is older than that. Plus, I checked from a previous report, the age of my account and the average age since opening haven't changed.

Give it another couple months, it will go back up.

I feel your pain... last 2 derogs fell off this past month and my score took a major tumble... I'm told my score will go back up over time, I guess we'll see.
