Good morning everyone! (or afternoon depending on your local) Okay, yesterday I was lost on the boards looking for score driven only CC's. Here is what I found. Bank of America RNB Visa Target Cap One GM Curcuit City Visa Radio Shack Quick Trip UMB Bank Nordstroms Target Visa AMEX Union Plus Corvette Now, I was unable to get minimum score information. Does anyone know what the lowest scores accepted for these cards are? Any additions to the list? Butch... I read one of your very old posts. You were going to be applying for all the cards in one day. Is this helpful to the FICO score? And what about the "certain time, certain day" theory for application? Everyones input is greatly appreciated!! Thank you all!!
Hi Nub, Good thread. I once asked the same question. Here's what we discovered; Initially your approval for credit is score driven. Once we meet the score requirement the system says ok to the new client (you). But this leaves several issues yet to resolve. Namely how much the credit line will be and at what interest rate. This requires the involvement of an analyst. After the analyst has the chance to examine your credit worthiness they make those decisions. In this process however, they do have override authority to change their mind and decide NOT to extend credit after all. THEREFORE, the bottom line ... there are NO exclusively score driven credit lines. The next logical question might be, which ones are more score driven than the others. Now there's a tricky sucker. lol (At least this is what makes the most sense to me) .
I have been DENIED for INQUIRES AS THE ONLY REASON!!! F.I.C.O. 665-739 H/H income 6 figures No baddies...ever
Agreed. Score is the "pre-screen" so to speak. But, often times it is the computer that decides that APR. For example, if you call to check the status of an app and your approved, you'll know the initial credit line right away, but they usually cannot tell you the interest rate on your new card (that comes a few days later). Again, I think there is some intervention (computer or human) to make that determination.
Thank you Butch, George and BradJ! I appreciate your responses. It makes sense what you are saying about "pre-screening". That aside, if I were to apply for several in one day, is it going to help my score? Will the inquiries only count as one....or..?? And as for the logical question... any hypothetical answers? Thank you everyone!
