Here's the deal. Was listed as a user on parents card while in college and I guess I still am since it shows on my credit report. Just recently mom was on vacation and thought she prepaid this card that she hardly uses...anyway she didn't and I just got hit with a 60 day late payment on my credit report. She has since payed in full the balance. Is there anything I can do to get this off my credit report or she can do to get the CC company to remove this? Would I be able to have the entire record removed since I was user years ago and don't even have this card any longer. Thanks. Is a 105pt drop normal for a 60day late fee?

    1. Have her remove you as an authorized user
    2. Once that is confirmed, dispute with the CRA as "not my account"
    3. If you need to be back on her account, make sure she cleans up her CR before putting you back on
PS: this could take several months to accomplish

I was just removed as a user from my mothers card. Credit score has gone back up from 685 to 781(applied for one other card recently) and this account still shows on the credit report as closed but there is no history of late payments or any payments at all. This account does have the longest history so I was thinking I would leave this on there as closed instead of disputing.

Are there any reasons that I should go ahead and dispute since the score went back up? Just wanted another opionion since you guys know more about this than I do. Thanks.

Thanks for the confirmation. I'll just leave it alone unless someone posts some good reasons to dipute.

I agree with jenz. Leave it alone if it's not hurting your score.
