I refinanced my house under a workout program with Countrywide last fall. got the loan rate down from a 8.5 down to a 7.0, kept same term that I had, 22 years to go, and payment stayed about the same. At end of process in October, I was current, but I had several late pays 30-60 days over the last three years, plus the one 90 day late. Since October, I have been current, paying the mortgage on the first of every month. Last month, I contacted the company and explained that I had been current every month, and the way the workout group explained it to me, I had the same as a new loan, with a clean slate. CRA's were showing all the lates at that time. I begged the rep to give me a break on reporting the late payments, explained it was contributing to low credit scores and high auto insurance payments. He was such a sweetheart, he went to three different supervisors pleading my case, and acting as my advocate for giving me a clean start as far as what they reported to the CRA's. Finally, on his third try, (and fifteen minutes of being on hold) he came back and said he had convinced someone it was the right thing to do. Two weeks later, 5/17 , I got a notification from Countrywide saying that they had sent a new verification to all four CRA's and to give it 30-60 days to post. I have been holding my breath to see exactly what they reported. Today, I got a notifier through Credit Expert that Countrywide had posted a change to my tradeline. THEY KEPT THE HISTORY BACK TO '94, AND SHOWED IT OPEN NEVER LATE !!!! WHOO-HOO !!!! My report also shows the Target Visa reporting for the first time, $27 balance, $700 LOC. Also, it shows my daughters BOA CC where I am listed as an authorized user for first time, $250 Balance, $1500 LOC. These three things are the only differences between 5/15 report on Experian which was 614, and today's score which is 643. I know I'm not there yet, but slowly I am climbing towards that 700 mark. Just wanted you to know that sometimes there is hope if you talk to a sympathetic service rep.
Re: WOW!Countrywide removed latepays got the card 18 days ago, it posted 2 days ago. pretty fast, huh ? haven't checked to see if it has posted to anything other than Experian. I have some disputed items with Equifax and TU both, and expect to get copies of CR's in the next week to 10 days, so we'll see.
Re: WOW!Countrywide removed latepays I got my guest card July 15 and it didn't report until the middle of September. Interestingly, TU is the only one that reports the true credit limit, and Experian updated for the newest statement and erased my high balance, but shows original credit limit as my first statement balance...
Re: WOW!Countrywide removed latepays It's nice to know that there are people in the credit industry out there that will cut people slack. Congratulations.
