Could I call Sears on a charged-off that has my wife listed as an AU account of mine and simply ask them to remove her from this account? And would this possibly do some good in getting this AU removed from her Equifax report? (I know I could do this, but would IT do any good?)

Maybe I should simply send a letter to Equifax stating that this Account is solely mine and should be removed from my wife's account, her name is still completely different then mine as our marriage is common law. (I am thinking this may just work out!! :)

No I dont think that will work out... they will verify with sears that she is an au and will more than likely leave it on... how many times have you heard the cras removing negative informationh just to be nice?... call sears up first and have her removed then deal with the cras.. probably be better is she called up sears and requested to be removed as an au then requested they remove the account from her report

I just recently had a JC Penney co removed from Hubby's reports (he was an AU). Just disputed as not mine.

Thanks for the ideas, this Sears AU in only on Equifax right now. I have gotten it removed through standard cra disputes from Exp and TU. I was thinking of just sending a letter to Eq, stating that the account is mine and not hers, or something to that effect. For whatever reason I don't really want to deal with Sears, I am expecting they will sell this account to RMA someday, so maybe on additional thought it is critical THAT I contact Sears and have her removed.

I am just kind of thinking out loud. :)

1 neg of TU, 4 neg on Exp, and 5 left to go on Eqf. :) Wife should be solid in the 600 club in about 30 days.
