I am so upset with Sears I could scream, I finally closed my account with them today, something I should have done that when they dropped my limit from $1500 to $250. Anyway I can't dipute with Experian anymore and Sears won't budge on removing an AU from the credit report, what should I do ?!!
exactly what have you said to them to get it removed? i had to make sears remove my DHs name from an account i had with them. i genuinely didnt think i'd ever made him an AU on the account, so i told them that. I got the account before we got married, and he NEVER shops at sears because that would mean he'd have to go near a MALL, lol. anyway, Sears was pretty good about removing him from the account, and Equifax and Trans Union removed him immediately (my account was also closed at the time) but experian....sheesh...they were like a brick wall. I had to dispute it like 5 times, and i of course got the 'remains', 'previously verified' and 'frivolous' replies. I just kept plugging away, responding with another dispute every time they verified. finally, i sent them the following in BOLD ALL CAPS, about a 16 FONT size, lol: Sir or Madame: RE: SEARS TRADE LINE, ACCOUNT #XXXXX... I HAVE DISPUTED THE ABOVE ACCOUNT FIVE (5) TIMES, PROVIDED YOU PROOF THAT IT IS INCORRECT, AND YET YOU CONTINUE TO REPORT INACCURATE INFORMATION. I HAVE BEEN TOLERANT OF YOUR WILLFUL AND NEGLIGENT NONCOMPLIANCE LONG ENOUGH. I CONTACTED THE ORIGINAL CREDITOR/SOURCE (SEARS) BEFORE I EVER BEGAN COMMUNICATIONS WITH YOU AND I HAVE PROOF OF THAT, SO DO NOT TELL ME THAT I â??MAY WISH TO CONTACT THE SOURCEâ??. IT IS YOU WHO NEEDS TO CONTACT THE SOURCE. SIMPLY CALL SEARS AT 1-800-917-7700. SEARS HAS DONE THEIR PART AND SO HAVE I. AGAIN I AM ENCLOSING SAID PROOF. DELETE THE TRADE LINE OR BE SUED. ---------------------------------------------------- i guess it was concise enough that the idiots understood it. The TL was finally removed about 15 days after they got that letter. good luck. i'll help you further if you need it! i remember how frustrated i was when it happened to me.
