I have a question. I currently have a sears gold mastercard that will soon be taken over by citibank as they have just bought sears national bank. My question is have have a charge off with citibank from 1997 are they going to close my acct once they take it over and find out that i have a charge off with them..I really hope this does not happen as i love my sears card and make sure they are paid on time and far more then the min payment. Any info would help. Thanks

I spoke with Sears a few months ago and they told me that all Sears cards (gold and store proporietary)will remanin the same despite being managed by Citibank.

Citibank is really good about keeping accounts open and not slashing credit limits.

But good luck ever getting a credit limit increase on that card, especially with a chargeoff...
