I have an old Sears account that I settled for 1/2 on. I disputed it twice, verified twice. I disputed it again last month, as obsolete, and not only did they verify, they changed from closed account to paid collection. Then today, out of the blue, they change it to paid charge off, settlement accepted on this account. They are wasting their time, since it comes off in Dec. anyway. Don't they have anything better to do with their time?? Maybe if they spent less time screwing with my old account, they would make less mistakes on peoples new ones! LOL

    Oh my goodness.

I too am having problems with Sears.

I disputed as 'not mines', they updated it to the CORRECT date.

I disputed again as 'not mines', they changed the amount to the CORRECT amount.

In summary, the account was being reported incorrectly in the beginning before I disputed it.

Sadly, by disputing it, they corrected it ;-(

I think I should have left it alone.

    It comes off 3 2002.

    Sucks huh?

The title of your post is correct.

funny..i have sears accounts that will fall off in dec as well. they are no longer with sears, it is those low-life RMA scums collecting on it.

catch this..they pulled and inquiry last week i noticed on my EX/CE report. low and behold yesterday I get a letter from them telling me I owe some ungodly amount..the date of the debt? 12/95
YA RIGHT IM GONNA PAY THAT RIGHT AWAY!

    stupid people.

whats even more comical that on my report it says 'unable to locate consumer'.

at least if they re-age it I have proof that they showed the last activity date of 12/95 ;p
