I just got a letter from Sears, the letter says I have been pre-selected to apply for a card. The keyword here is apply. I think they are sending this just to send it since my credit score cannot be over 550 on any of the cra's right now, it would be a wasted inquiry wouldn't it? Does anyone know what cra they use?

The chart here says they use TU. I got the same offer in the mail last month, and I can't believe they did any kind of credit check because 1.) I have an old chargeoff from them that as of last week Coldata is still trying to collect and 2.) I have seen no promotional inquiry from them on any of my reports.

I wouldn't say your chances were any better than if you were to apply in a store. If you don't think you'll qualify, and knowing how many inquiries you already had from your last thread, I'd say you should trash it.

Concentrate instead on getting a few more secured visa/mastercard accounts.

Sears pulled Experian on me in Texas. I only got $250 limit with score of 650

Sears is tough. My father had an account with them for 20 years which he closed on good terms. Perfect credit history.

We bought new appliances from them 18 months ago, they had a very low Apr offer with no payments for six months.

I asked my father if he would sign for it in his name only as a favor. I figured it would be no problem to pay them off before the rate changed.

They turned him done cold for having too many available credit lines.

To date they have been his only decline. He no longer shops at Sears.
