I have sent two e mails to the home repair section on their home page. Never get a response. Haven't paid on the account because the product I purchased is not working. They are going to put it in a "charge off"status and ruin my credit. I have been in contact with them on many occasions but never hear back from the party in charge. What should I do?

Your in pretty deep right now. Did you send sears anything in writing about the problem within the first 60 days of being billed?

sears has been aware of the problem for at least 6 months. The lawn tractor has had problems since day one. this is not the first tractor I have purchased from them. The old one had many of the same problems. Prior to going out of warranty they came to take care of my complaints. They did so with one big exception. They never listened to the motor. It has a wrist pin slap or some sort of piston knock. The tech. would not start the tractor because the battery was dead and the warranty on that was only sixty days. So where do I go from here? I'm thinking small claims

Big business has the mind set that you owe them the money but they don't owe you anything in return for it.

I hate to tell you, if you didn't inform the creditor (Sears National Bank) of a problem with the quality of the goods or services within 60 days of the 1st statement that you were sent, you may have lost your federal protections.

Calling or visiting the store doesn't protect you. Only a written dispute to the bank invokes your protections.

Follow everyone's advice and use www.planetfeedback.com or contact Sears Customer Care - Product Service at:

Mr. Anthony Marino, VP Customer Care
    Sears, Roebuck & Co.
    3333 Beverly Road
    Hoffman Estates, IL 60192-3322
    (direct email = webcenter@sears.com)

I had a problem with a dryer, and almost 1 year after it was charged, they made good on it (and extended the 0% for another year).

Don't let it charge-off - you'll have one hell of a time undoing that damage.
