Okay i got my credit score and they are somewhat different on all three, but low either way. The lowest is 401. Yes that is the dumps! What card can i actually apply for and get approved. I tried bank of america in the past for a secure card, not approved. So anything out there easy to get. Oh yeah i had ochard bank and mess up with that too.Anything out there to get me back on track. Looking from something to apply online maybe?
Creditnet has a whole section devoted to credit cards that will help people rebuild their credit. Click on the "Credit Cards" tab above, then on the "Bad Credit" link on the left-hand side menu. Here is a direct link: http://www.creditnet.com/credit-cards/credit-cards-for-bad-credit/index.php All cards accept online applications, so you can get started right away. Good luck.
National City would be your best bet for a secured card. Give them a call for an app. 1) They're a prime bank. 2) Min deposit is $250; max is $2500. Takes about a month to get from time they cash your check and pull your credit. 3) Annual fee is $36 billed as $3/month. 4) Reports as unsecured to all three CRAs. 5) They do convert some people, however, you'd have to qualify for their regular card at time of conversion AND apparently they'll open this as a new tradeline. They are picky, though, so don't expect it unless your scores are above average (720) when you ask. 6) They won't approve someone actually in BK, but they do approve almost everyone else (I haven't heard of anyone being declined). This is in marked contrast to Wells Fargo and Bank of America, whose secured cards are fairly hard to get. You have to call for an application. Phone # is 800-762-0974.
National City is probably the best in terms of the secured route. You may elect to try HSBC; i.e., Orchard and Household. They do not blacklist and it won't cost you an inquiry via there webpage. I'd opt for National City if I had my druthers though insofar as at least you will get your money back.
