Hi guys! I like this forum a lot. This is so helpful and educative. Thanks to all of you who participate. I have a new question for today. Is it going to help me with my credit score if my cousin adds me as authorized user on his secured card? He is without credit history like me. Is it going to be any help at all for me, since his card is secured, and he just started to build credit? Thanks, Denny
couldn´t you find anyone else with longer history and a prime card?. Your father or a close relative?. He/she doesn´t need to give the card to you only add as an authorized user.
Yes I could, but I'm not sure about their history. If they don't have a good history, it's going to reflect on my report too, wright? And I don't want to be rude and ask them to show me there history. Could you please tell me how acctually looks AU report? I mean what is shown in primary account and what in AU account on the report? What kind of data am I going to have in my report from primary holder? His SSN? address? Is he going to have my SSN in his report? Thanks!
I heard that when someone adds you as AU on his account his history is transfered to you, but I don't know how does this really work? What do they transfer to AU credit report? Hope someone will explain this in detail. Thanks!
All the account history will be showed on your own report . The only diference is that will say ¨ "Authorized user" instead "Individual Account". Example: if you were authorized user of of my Citibank account this account will be showed as: Company Name Account Number Citibank S.D./USA 530899XXXXXXXXXX AUTHORIZED ACCOUNT Open date 10/2002 Revolving PAYS AS AGREED Limit $18600 Min payment 81 Balance $4000 Date reported 06/2003
you should give your Name, SS# and date of Birth in order to get the account reported on your own report. Sometimes you tell your name only and they still report. In my case I was an authorizer user of my brother $200 Mobil card. I only gave my name because I didn´t want to have this low account on my reports.Anyway they located me and reported it to all three bureaus... Grrr!!
Thanks to all of you guys! I'm going to stop bothering you with this AU matter. These answers were very helpfull!!! Denny
Re: Re: Secured card and AU? Please advise! Just one more question. OK, I see now what's going to show in my report, and what's going to show on primary card holder report regarding me?
Re: Re: Re: Secured card and AU? Please advise! Nothing. It doesn't say "# of cards issued on this account: 2". It won't matter. So, get him to add his account to 500 people and 500 people would "hopefully" benefit. (Of course, I bet the card issuer may have a limit per account.)
