I've got a BofA secured card that will be unsecured hopefully in 2 months. My question is will they start my history all over with a new account or just change the status of my old one?
NO, they won't start it over. It will have the original issue date, it will just become a regular card. Congrats! You have an account with a great bank!
BofA Secured card I too have a Bofa secured card which should be up for review soon. (good standing. i'm very happy with it ) This is my first secured card. How does Bofa handle the upgrade? Do they usually send you a letter of congrats with a new card or does one have to call into the credit depart to request an upgrade? What type of credit limit upgrade have you all seen with this card? I'm wondering, if they let me keep this card and issue another credit card account as well, so I can build another solid TL? Sorry for all the questions, but I hope this help others too in the future FYI - For all thinking about getting the BofA "secured" card, it reports as "Secured" on EQ and TU, but not my EXP credit report.
BofA Secured card Mine is up for review on August I use and pay off (to $0 balance) 3-6 times a statement cycle.
