There's been a lot of talk about qualifications for XYZ Bank secured card with mentions of graduation review after 1 or 2 or 3 years etc. What I'm interested in seeing now is the graduation criteria. I'm assuming they consider your payment history on the secured account. But what other factors: staying within your CL? how often you send in a deposit to increase your CL? how often you use the card? what? Also, they know you would have had damaged credit to get the secured card in the first place; so, do they pull credit reports? Do they care that your 550 is only 565 a year later? Finally, what happens at graduation? Do you get your deposit back and they give you a classic / gold / plat / titanium / black card with the same limit? Or a lower CL than the secured CL? Just curious.
