I'm sending out a validation to Asset today CRRR and wondering if I should put an ATTN: to one of the names on the collection letters they've sent me or just to Asset Acceptance Corp. Does it matter? Also, my letters are from their FL office. Should I send to their main office in MI as well or is one enough? Thanks!
As far as I know, you don't have to. I don't think it will make much of a difference. They probably won't respond to your letter and if they do they will probably send a printout which isn't validation. Please file a complaint if they do not respond. File it with the State of FL banking and Finance dept. and the FTC. I have file complaints. They keep verifying and it is driving me crazy. I know they don't have anything, not even a printout.
Thanks betacredit. I knew you'd help me out with them ;-) I think I read in some older posts that you also dealt with Arrow Financial? I've got them too. Just wondering what you can tell me about them?
I got lucky with them. Before I found this board I sent them a payment for deletion offer. They never responded. Then I found this board and started sending validation letters. They never responded. I got a letter from another ca demanding payment. Since it was the first letter it was the first 30 days. So I sent them a validation letter and they weren't able to put it on my report. So basically, I got lucky. I don't know how Arrow is to deal with. They probably won't respond like the rest of them.
I have an old debt (6 years old) that these jokers are reporting on my account. I am willing to negotiate, but first, I want some validation. I sent a validation letter out to Asset Acceptance on March 21, 2002. Yesterday I received a letter that stated the following: "Please be advised that the documents to support our claim in connection with the above account have been ordered and will be forwarded to you upon receipt in this office. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact this office. This is an attempt to collect a debt and any information obtained will be used for that purpose." Sincerely, Debt Collector HAHAHAHAHA I thought that Debt Collector line was priceless! Made me laugh my a$$ off. Now lets just see if they can come up with some validation.
I just got that same letter in response to my CRRR for validation. I haven't even gotten the green card back yet.
