Hello, I am about to mail verification letters to the CRA's. I've read that some people send a copy of their credit reports with the letters. Should I do this? Should I do this if some accounts that I have challenged are showing up on the credit report as verified? Before, I did it over the phone. Never by mail. Thanks!
Re: Send Copy of Report w Lett All you need to do is refer to the confirmation number. I suppose if you want to mail a copy you can, but I have never found it necessary.
Re: Send Copy of Report w Lett Hi, I now wish I'd mailed at least the relevent credit report page(s) with the accounts I was disputing highlighted and boldly circled in red. Of my first round disputes with Experian I disputed 2 items, a judgment a loan account. They reinvestigated the judgment and deleted it but for some reason, even though I clearly listed the account name and account number of the loan I was disputing, they messed up and reinvestigated some other account that came back verifed. Re: Send another letter with a copy of your first dispute letter... highlight the dispute. Add that since this was clearly disputed on xxxx date, they now have gone over their 30 days and you want it removed the day they receive this new letter. try it. they did screw up and you don't have to accept the "ok, we'll investigate it now and you have to wait another 30 days" crap. It's a purposeful stall. push the issue. once the letter has been received, I'd call up and make sure the item is deleted. If they start to give you b/s... innocently ask, "now, I think this is a violation of my rights... is is the FTC I call or do I just get a lawyer to look into this? what do you recommend?"
