Send letters to CA by Fax?

I have a fax number for one of the CA's listed on my exp report. This is a trade line which was apparently sold to them by the previous CA, who never responded to my validation requests.

Is it ok to send my complaint letter, copies of previous letters, etc, by way of fax, rather than CRR mail? This leaves me with the fax confirmation page as proof they received it, and gets it to them faster and cheaper.

Is there any reason not to send it by fax?

    I recommend fax + CMRRR.

Then you have the fax transmittal receipt as 'receipt 1', and the CMRRR green card as 'receipt 2'.

If the CA says that they never received the fax, or they only received a part of the fax before the machine jammed, or other such excuse, then you would still have the green card as proof of secondary delivery.

Also, if you are sending it from a fax in your own personal possession, they may be able to argue that the transmittal may not be genuine. It's best to use a third-party fax machine, at a local business, etc. This also prevents them from attempting to send a fax back to you, a communication which you are paying for, without your express permission.
