Send validation to lender?

2 of my God-aweful (or is it awful?) student loans were once serviced by Bank XYZ. They were opened in 1992 and last activity was 9/1999 when they were charged-off.

Could I try a validation asking them to provide my signature on the application? My dad swears that one of my loans was actually signed for by him but I think he is wrong.

In any event, could I try to get them to validate with a signed contract? As an aside, I opened a checking acct and savings acct with this bank about a year ago so I am now a current customer of them. That being said, could I try the "have mercy on me since I am now a customer" routine and ask them to delete the entries?

    The debts were subsequently sold.

Did you make your last payment in 1999 or are they using the chargeoff date as the date of last activity?

Well then, that is a big no no. The date of last activity is the last payment you made prior to it becoming late, and never catching up. So if your last payment was more than 7 years ago, they need to take it off. Do you have any proof of your last payment?
