Well, I sent out my first settlement letters today, to three CA's. I sent them certified mail with return receipt. I used the sample letter I found on this site.

I am really nervous about what's going to happen though. I'm afraid they are going to update my last activity date or something like that and I'll end up getting screwed.

Has anyone had success with settlement for deletion?

Oh, I also sent off my first validation letter last week (certified, return receipt, used the one found on this site) and I'm curious to see how they respond.

I'm trying to get a house and they want everything taken care of on my credit report, so I figure I won't just pay it, and try to get it deleted.

    Comments?

Lots of times they don't even respond to settlement letters. Some have had success and some had found it to be a waste of time.

It's good to send them this way if you sue them you can show the judge that you're trying to be a good guy.
