This is really sad - are you saying the CRA are LOOKING and DIGGING for negative crap to stick in our credit reports?

Excuse me for sounding naive, but this sounds a little bit like a conflict of interest in my humble opinion. They put crap in our reports and then they're clients (the creditors) get to make a fortune on use via high interest rates.

...and we expect them to DELETE negative items from our reports for us.....yeah right!!!!

Yup. They want as much information as possible, good, bad, and indifferent. After all, that is what their clients are paying for. They are especially interested in supplying any negative information.

Remember, their clients are making credit decisions based on this information, so a negitive item carries more weight than a positve one on this regard.

More likely they actually do the leg work. I used to live in an area where the clerk of the courthouse *refused* to make it possible for people to remotely access public data. No internet, no CD-ROMs etc. (Unless you were from the state govt)

So what happened is the clerk will provide the reams of paper documents for you to sift through--one bound volume at a time--and charge you $0.50 per page for a photocopy, a bad photocopy. Well I noticed that there were some people that were using those handheld scanners on the bound books. I asked the counter aide about that and she said they were "from some kind of data company." She said they used to make a ton of money off of them because they would copy entire volumes. But as of late (this was 3 years ago) they stopped paying for copies because they had the scanners and laptop computers. She also said there were about 5 or 6 "regulars" that would come in about 3 times a week.

When I went in to get copies of my judgement, the room was PACKED with people. I was wondering what the heck all these people were doing in there, and I was wondering if maybe some of them were from the CRA's. They could've been there looking up my judgement for all I know. How funny would that have been, to run into one of them while I was there??? LOL

I feel as if all three CRAs are in the business of helping their clients (the OCs) the worse credit we have the more money they make

Right cable666 - and any one with a lick of sense can see this whole thing of reporting and scoring is nothing but one big shell game.

We really need to figure out a way to make them pay for this kind of crap. The law states 100% accuracy. Well if there is a mistake then that is not accurate. I am so sick of EQ and their BS.

A collector is like a telephone salesperson: you call someone up and bargain their credit rating in exchange for money.
