Served with summons

I am a newbie that is in desperate need of help....I was justed served with a summons two weeks ago for a Household Bank card. The suit was filed in October 2004 and the sol is July 2006, so my question is can they served me almost two years after the suit was filed and can I use sol as defense? In Georgia the sol is 4 years.
