discover wanted me to settle a c/o by today or i would be sued. i couldn't come up with the funds but am still trying. is it too late to avoid the lawsuit? or do the terms get better from here on?
i wouldn't take any offer unless you are willing to take responsibility for this debt. If you take any offer there is no way you can say this debt isn't yours in court then. Just remember when they take you to court, its their burden to prove this is your debt. They will try and scare you to get money out of you, just remember its a scare tactic, anyone on this forum can tell you that. I am a newbie on this site but I have been to court for a cc debt and I won. Also, its illegal for them to tell you they will sue you unless they intend to do so. Have you requested documentation to verify this is your debt?
