Settle with CA or Original Creditor

    Hello friends.

I have decided to make settlements on validated debts on my credit report. Should I attempt to make arrangements with the original creditors or the collection agencies they've been sold to?

I'm aware that CA's are easier to settle with, but how do I get them AND the original creditor they represent to delete the trade line entry once settled?

    Cheers!

If the original creditor sold the debt to the CA, then the original creditor's TL should say that it has been sold, and that it has $0 balance.

tradeline, refering to youre acct like amex chargeoff is a tradeline ,I would pay for a delete or negotiate to reopen.Get a recorder and do everything in writing, also depending on how old the debt was charged off or sold to jdb-junk debt buyer ca-collection agency you could settle for less or dispute etc.Let's say the debt is 3 years old and you pay the collection agency this would temporarily hurt you're fico score, since you now have paid collection now reaged having to now wait 7 years instead of 4 plus after 2 years creditors focus on what's current to some degree
