settlement letters

    I was told that I could write some letters and offer to pay less than what is actually owed.

    How do I do that and then get it off my credit.

    You can offer to settle, that doesn't mean the creditor will accept. The best they will likely offer is to report the TL as "SETTLED" or "SETTLED FOR LESS THAN FULL AMOUNT".
