    Good Morning,
I received a settlement offer from a creditor. I was wondering should I write back to them and say I will pay the settlement offer if they delete from my report turned over to collection. Any help would be appreciated

WHAT WAS THE PERCENT FOR THE SETTLEMENT? I AM THINKING ABOUT DOING THE SAME THING. TRYING TO FIND A GOOD LETTER TO WRITE. I WOULD LIKE TO SETTLE FOR ABOUT 40% OF ORIGINAL BALANCE.

    Alicia,
It can't hurt to ask. If they agree, make sure they put it in writing. In fact if it was me and they said no, I would counter with " I could probably come up with 40%, if you'll delete for payment.

Once you pay the original creditor the collection agency doesn't have a leg to stand on. You can work on them to remove the tradeline.
