I understand you can have negative items removed off your credit report if the information is reported inaccurate, incomplete. or unverifiable. If a person made a settlement with a creditor for the purpose of settling the debt, and the item is reported inaccurately, incomplete, or unverifiable on the credit report, can that item be disputed and demand that it be removed?

    Same boat

I'm in the same boat. I paid a settlement on a CA account resulting from a credit card charge-off. The CA is still reporting this every month as an active collection account.

Yes, you can dispute it through the credit reporting agencies. Make sure you pinpoint the inaccuracy.
