Here's the scoop: I have 2 Household Accounts (Rooms to Go and CompUSA). I've received Settlement offers from the CAs these accounts were referred to and would like to settle for deletion. Both CA and OC are reporting. Household refers me to CA for each account and refuses to discuss accounts. If I settle with CA do they have the ability to delete OC Charge Off status or how would I delete charge off status after the fact? Any ideas? Thanks for any replies. Kim
Welcome first I think this is your first post. You can find an detailed answer to this question at FAQ. Basicly CA can not delete the OC information in your credit report. Unless they have "good" relationship with the OC. The aggrement should say that OC agreed to delete the account. But I never seen that happen yet personally.

LosAngeles ====================== 1 & 3*When we (Re CA) make the purchase or servicing transaction, we receive a power of attorney that gives us the inherit rights under the original cardholder agreement. We have the ability to "bind" the original creditor in certain situations. This gives us the right to settle an account and REQUIRE that the original creditor, such as Citibank, MBNA, Household etc. remove the original trade line and OURS. WestCap =========================== Some one was asiking a while back about getting the oc to delete in addition to The CA. Don't know who the poster was or on what thread they posted but here is your answer!! This gives us the right to settle an account and REQUIRE that the original creditor, such as Citibank, MBNA, Household etc. remove the original trade line and OURS. 2*If the Ca fails to validate then there is no account for either them or the OC to report.
