Aren't you only a few weeks away from the SOL? You'll never get deletion on these if you DO PAY :(

    VALIDATION LETTER.

Children seldom misquote you. In fact, they usually repeat word for
word what you shouldn't have said.

Is the CA reporting? CRA's don't validate.

If both are reporting, I would start by validating with the CA next month. (After its out of SOL). Maybe, with luck, the CA will delete, then you are only negotiating with the OC for the TL deletion.

    Who is the CA?

Should have taken LB's advice and had a case of coffee this morning.

OK, so now I understand you have two accounts with Citi (OC), and their internal collections are collecting. Your CR's are only showing OC tradelines for each account, and not the CA and the OC having separate TL's for each account. Do I got it????

If I finally got it right, this is what I would do, others may disagree:

The OC does not have to validate, soooo, since you want to pay it, but you want it to disappear as well... My suggestion would by on 7/01/2003 LOL, after SOL is expired, write them a settlement offer, pointing out that it is out of SOL, you can't collect, involuntarily, but since I'm such a nice upstanding guy, I will pay xxx, but I want it deleted. Otherwise you are SOL!

    Yeap you got the idea.

So your advise is wait for the SOL to run out. Then send them a letter of settlement for deletion.

I bet you they would lie and said that they can collect on them anytime. So then can I get them for violation just for syaing that?

Technically they can collect, but legally you don't have to pay (if you know the law). SOL is an affirmative defense :)

Sorry 6pm here - its Miller time.
