Settling with Discover?

I have had an account with Discover that has been closed for about 2 years. I originally had a balance of over $1,000, but now I have it paid down to a balance I could pay off with the next payment. I would like them to take off the lates and just list the account as "Paid" or something that doesn't look too negative. I'm not sure what the actual term would be. I want to send them a letter saying that considering the fact I have paid off my balance and not been late in several months, I would like the account status changed on receipt of my final payment. Any good letters out there I should look at before composing my own? How is the best way to dispute this, certified letter or PFB?

    Thanks for your help!

Use the West Cap Endorsement if you are paying in full.

That should solve your problem. Maybe Bill can elaborate further but I think that might be the best option in this matter.

Discover is a very hard creditor to deal with if you get on their bad side!

Ok, what is West Cap Endorsement? I tried doing a search for the term, but the only post it brought up was mine! LOL
