Don't know if this helps at all, but at work today (Citibank) the television plays up-to-the minute credit news and it was saying that Citi acquired some type of Shell accounts in the past few months and they accepted and opened something like 500,000 accounts in the past month and plan to keep expanding for a couple of quarters. Don't know if that helps anyone at all, but there ya go.
That must be the Shell MasterCard that was formerly issued by Chase. They've already been issuing regular Shell cards for at least 3 years and probably a lot more than that. If this news means that it will be easier to get a Shell Mastercard, then I'm all for it.
