Shell Mastercard and Chase Freedom

    I already have Chase Freedom with 3% gas rebate anywhere. I was thinking of signing up for Shell Mastercard for their 5% gas rebate on Shell gasoline.

    Does anybody else out there have these two cards together? Am I wrong, or is the 5% the only advantage Shell Mastercard from Citi has over Chase Freedom? Is this worth having both?

    I use any gas, including Shell, but I figure that when the price is lower, and I do go to Shell, I may as well get 5%

    My Shell mastercard was converted to the Chase Freedom Mastercard. That would make one assume that the shell mastercard is no longer. I'd call Chase first to be sure.

    Not true. Shell is alive and well at Citibank, but you need to reapply.

    My shell mastercard was thru CHASE bank, not citibank.

    You are missing the point. Chase replaced the Shell Mastercard with the Chase freedom card. Citibank has taken over the Shell Mastercard. Therefore, both still exist. Is that clearer???
