It seems to me Sherman Acquisition bought up and old Citibank account.
What's strange is Citibank is not an OC on any of my CR's as if I never even had an account with them and

Sherman shows an "open date" of 10/02

The original CIti CC DOLA should be around 97-98 but since it is'nt on my CR I don't know for sure.

The strangest thing is that Experian says this is subject to stay on my record until 6/2005. That's not 7 years from 2002 but would be from 98 and that's about what the DOLA should be.

    I'm confused. Is this "re-aging"?

    Here is the TL also.

    Any help??? Thanks

there are much more knowledgeable people on this board than i am but i figured i would let you know of my situation; that is actually almost the same.

sherman has two tradelines that they put on my bureaus ("acquired" from osi/gulf state). the dola is from late 96 and their date is late 02.

ive sent them a validation letter, an estoppel, an intent-to-sue, and i just sent an email to the ceo. they have over 80 complaints on the bbb (oh, and i complained to them also).

they've also settled out of court with numerous people on this board.

anyway, just thought i would let you know you are not alone with those freaks.

    Thanks Duke...

I dont want to validate yet b/c
they are not bothering me b/c they can't find me, but I'm worried this will never go away if they keep opening the account.

know what you mean. what made me mad tho is that i never got anything from them either. the letters were all received and the green cards signed with no response from them whatsoever. thats what made me threaten with a lawsuit.

i'll go thru with it if this ceo won't do anything about it. he emailed me back telling me he would send it over to the head of customer service. he said he will keep an eye on it closely, but i'm still wary of it.

    guess we'll see.....

I'd love for you to keep me informed on this. I would love to do something to them.

They have been contacting a relative in a different state for about 2 years. Thankfully he says our last name is pretty common and you have the wrong guy.

bump if any one as any advice...

    Is this re-aging?
I don't want them to know were I'm at just yet.
None of my other reports tell me when it will come off.

i don't think it is re-aging, but don't quote me on that.

check the thread i started right above or right below this one. it goes into a little more detail.

also, do a search on sherman on this board. quite a few posts.....
