Kevin Branigan is as high at Sherman as you can get. He is the COO.

If he says he will monitor it, you better believe he will. In my dealings with Sherman I found him to be very honest and forthright. For better or worse, your complaint has reache dthe top of the food chain and will get attention.

I would give him a week or so then e-mail him and ask for a progress report.

Re: Re: Re: sherman aquisition-----pending suit

got a letter back from the bbb about the complaint i sent them about sherman. alegis sent them a followup (imagine that: 3 letters from me including an its and estoppel with no response, 1 letter from bbb and they jump) which stated:

    1. sherman acquistion purchased the acct in question from sprint communication (i have never had sprint).

    2. sherman subsequently placed the acct in question with osi for collection

    3. osi sent the required disclosure letter that included all required disclosure notices relating to the procedure for disputing the acct.

    4. a review of the file indicates that shermans customer service dept received the correspondence requesting add'l info. shermans customer service dept forwarded the request to the original creditor. to date, we have not received the requested documents.

    5. based upon said complaint, sherman acq has ceased all activities on this acct. as of june 17 (typo?), 2003, shermans customer service dept has cancelled shermans trade line as it appears on said credit report. please remember it will take 45 to 90 days for the credit reporting agencies to update their files.

    6. also please make note that alegis group has had no involvement with this acct at all

based on the facts as we know them, it is clear that sherman acq or alegis group has not violated any federal, state, or local laws in its collection attempts

i got this yesterday and thought i would share this with you.

had two files from them that i had no idea what they were. so according to this, they are being deleted!!!!

    Duke!!

Be carefull with them. I've been fighting with them for over a month now. They tell me that in May of 2002, they had sent letters to all of the big three asking for my item line to be removed.

Only one of the three did that. The other two have stayed on for more than a year.

I would suggest that you contact all three CRA and forward a copy of the letter you received from Sherman to each of them.

Sherman had notified me that they were going to have my items removed on "the next reporting cycle."

I saw no reason for the delay and wanted it taken care of NOW!!!

thats what i think also. they're nothing but a bunch of crooks from what i've heard.

i got a letter from the bbb also that is a review of the company's remarks. they had two questions:

    1. has the company settled the complaint __yes__no

    2. is it acceptable to you?

should i answer no to the second one and try to make them delete it immediately?

Re: Re: Re: sherman aquisition-----pending suit

I'd be inclined to click the "no" button ..

But, then again, I've sent Sheman my intent to sue note .. by way of e-mail

They're on both my wifes CR and mine. My letter highlighted the first $18,000 and asked if they had any offers.

    np

took me a while only because i never got anything from them and they never answered my letters.

the only thing that helped was the bbb contacting them.....
