I have had a Platinum MC from HSBC bank Nevada for about 9 months now. They gave me a $300 credit limit and all payments have been made on time. My question is; when I applied for the card my credit scores were in the low 600's. After cleaning up my credit my score (with the exception of EX) I would like to get more credit. Am I better off asking for a credit increase on this card or should I apply for a new HSBC card? Also I hear HSBS pulls mostly for EQ in Arizona. Is this true? Thanks! fako's tu 688 eq 682 ex 628
You can ask but they won't give you one. You just have to wait for one. After 1 year you will get an increase of $100.00, or at least you should. Make sure the card is paid off for a while. It shouldn't be that hard with only a $300 limit.
You can ask for a raise in your credit limit without them offering you one. i asked for an increase out of the blue- at least 6 months after using the card well, and they increased it, to about 30% of original value. But depends on your card, credit file, and how well you have used the card. HINT: if you have used the card well then they will see you have had regular activity and use it.
