I just got an offer in the mail for a First Premier "GOLD" Mastercard...9.9% fixed, but almost $200 in set up fees!! I carry all Platinum Prime cards (AmEx, MBNA, BofA), but the fact that First Premier would even send the solicitation makes me nervous...and a little offended. LOL.
GET A BIG RED MARKER...WRITE---->ACCEPTANCE DENIED!!! MAIL IT BACK TO THEM IN THEIR ENVELOPE...THEY PAY EXTRA FOR RETURN POSTAGE.
Don't forget to add bits of scrap metal to the envelope - they pay postage by the ounce (assuming its business reply mail)
You know, I'm convinced the info they get from the CRAs has little to do with your file. I've known people who well-nigh perfect credit who got offers for high-fee cards at 29.9%.... and I used to get solicitations for Amex cards back when I had 3 collections on my account and a 550 FICO... Amex won't EVER give someone like that a card.
Re: Re: Should I be offended? The only offers I got from CAPITAL ONE were $72.00 annual fee "up-to" $6,000 limit at ~19% Then I got "HOOKED UP" with MR COOKE and PFB and I got $7,500 @ 12.90% (now $9,500 @ 5.90%)...
LOL. Thanks guys. I was just curious if anyone else with good credit got this offer. I guess they don't discriminate, heh? I think I'll stuff their solicitation plus a few of my other ones from MBNA and AmEx and mail it back at their expense. Or, maybe I could just tape the postage paid envelope to a box full of bricks or something. LOL. Thanks again! You guys are awesome!
Re: Re: Re: Re: Should I be offended? YES PFB...and talking to him on the phone about my 25+ years of CREDIT...
