BizWiz: Sorry, but CRA's don't check the county records themselves, online or in person. If they truly verify it, they do it through Lexis, which verifies using the online methods, or in person.
And Lexis doesn't do it accurately... There's one prominent case where LN -- REPEATEDLY -- verified that a CORPORATE judgment, belonged to the guy who had to sign for the service.
So, what is the consensus on the most effective way of disputing judgments? - Delete old addresses - I guess you have to do this by mail w/ most of the bureaus - Dispute the judgment - follow up - what's the best follow up after they 'verify' it? I've disputed mine, but the old address was still on my reports. Is that why they were able to verify it? It seems Equifax verified it and reflected it as paid, but then inexplicably removed it altogether a couple of weeks later. It's only going to be on until Oct 2008, but I'd like to go ahead and get it off because those type of marks just draw a lenders eye. Even paid, there's more explaining to do.
