Should I Dispute Charge-off Before Collection?

I have an original creditor who charged off my account and sold my acct to a collection agency. So now I have 2 negative credit items showing for one acct...1 as a charge-off with a zero balance and 1 as a collection account.

I want to dispute both but am curious if anyone has any insight into if it's better to dispute only 1 of them rather than both a the same time. Also, if it is better to first only dispute 1 of them...which 1 is better to dispute first, the charge-off with the original creditor or the collection agency the acct was sold to? Thank you.

If there are inaccuracies to dispute for both of them, I would dispute both simultaneously. I don't think you gain any advantage by disputing one before the other. You probably have a better chance at the OC not responding to the CRAs request for information though, since they've already written off the debt and sold it.
