I am personally doing a mix. I will dispute some on line and initiate other disputes via usps. I am hoping this works in my favor especially with the more difficult items.

My letter is ready to go. I'm sending my local Equifax affiliate (CBC) dispute out the 6th.
EX and TU will get the online dispute on or around then as well.

Before I knew a thing, I sent in a really cheesy form dispute (all negatives disputed on a single piece of paper!). I didn't even send it Certified. You want to know what happened? Roughly 45 out of 75 negatives (spread among six CR's- did my wife's at the same time) were either deleted or changed to R1. Since then, I've gotten very siphosticated, with letters worded just so, and of course, everything sent Return Receipt Requested. Know how many more that got knocked off so far? Two, maybe three. In fairness, these were the ones that had already verified once, so were more likely to verify again, but, still, I can't help but wonder if they (the CRA's) try just a little bit harder on the ones that look "Credit Repair-ish". Anyone have any thoughts on this?

BTW, now, I'm trying a different approach (signed up with Him whose name we shalt not speak, but begins with B and ends with twenty-two paragraphs written in a minute or less), so we'll see if that approach is more productive. I've decided that no matter what, I'm not going to form any judgments, nor report any results, until I've been at it for at least four months. Just completed month number one. I may launch a round of disputes separate from the other efforts in conjunction with this end of year CHOD. Again, any thoughts?

Sophisticated approach (er I mean one that works):

    --------
    Dear CRA,
Delete account #123 or suffer the consequences!
    Signed DaveLV
    ---------

Seems sophistication just aint the CRA's "cup of tea"

Actually to be fair, that is Signed Lexington care of DaveLV

For sure. clearly worded intelligent disputes do not work as well as ignorant ranting.

Maybe we should ask pbm to have some Ignorant Rant Form Letters posted in the other Forum...

Good idea. The "or suffer the consequences" letter should definitely be #1. hehe

    I'm in...

I know I haven't been around a lot lately (setting up my new consulting company)..but this sounds too good to be true..

Here's a good one for everybody...I got most of my negatives removed of off Equifax and TU...now one of my reasons for my score is "length of credit history"...these CRAs crack me up!

    As always...

    Hurricane Whappin,
LTNS. Great to hear about EQ and TU your successes! C.H.O.D will be an event this year with unprecidented successes :) Maybe it will help you remove the remaining items.

Hope your Thanksgiving holiday and upcoming holidays are great. Plans for Jamaica soon? I think I may go in late Jan/early Feb.

Good to see your post, wondering where you have been.

    -Peace, Dave

Sounds as if Louie the Liar (remember Jon Lovitz on SNL?) works at Equifax. "Yeah...yeah... I was just saying to my wife..... Morgan Fairchild....Whom I've seen naked.... that the... yeah.. the problem with this kid is her... yeah.. her Credit History is just too short.... yeah.

My apologies if you're not a her but a him. Hurricanes used to all be female, but now half of them are himmicanes so I wasn't sure...
